William McCaleb is a Principal in CXO Partners’ CFO Practice. A strategic finance executive and transaction advisor with over 25 years of experience spanning investment banking, private equity, and senior finance advisory, he brings a rare combination of financial leadership depth and hands-on M&A execution capability. William is equally comfortable directing core finance operations, leading complex deal processes from origination through exit, and driving restructuring initiatives for underperforming or transitioning businesses.

Throughout his career, William has served as an advisor to both companies and secured creditors navigating out-of-court restructurings and formal bankruptcy proceedings, including Section 363 sales. His extensive financial advisory expertise includes guiding organizations through complex sales processes, renegotiating financing arrangements, ensuring covenant compliance, and developing detailed business turnaround plans. He is highly skilled in creating 13-week cash flow projections, bankruptcy preparation and filings, cash flow optimization, product profitability analyses, and SG&A cost reduction initiatives. His industry experience spans agriculture, consumer products, manufacturing, and various business services.

Prior to joining CXO Partners, William served as Director of Transaction Advisory & Restructuring with GlassRatner (a B. Riley Financial Company). In this role, he executed M&A engagements encompassing financial due diligence and transaction structuring, led capital raises, and served as an advisor in high-profile cases, including the Section 363 sales for Curae Health and Premier Exhibitions.

Previously, as Vice President and Principal with Atlanta Equity Advisors, he was a key investment professional for this $110 million lower-middle market private equity firm. There, he drove deal origination, managed portfolio company performance, and coordinated complex acquisitions and successful exits, including the sale of Richmond Cold Storage to Bay Grove Capital. Earlier in his career, as Vice President at Navigant Capital Partners, William executed major sell-side M&A transactions—including the $233 million sale of Radica Games to Mattel—and advised subordinated lenders on restructuring efforts that significantly increased capital recovery. He began his career with Lehman Brothers in New York.

William earned his MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia.
